MEET RACHEAL ADELEKE; A DESIGNER AND FASHION TUTOR
Racheal Adeleke is a professionally trained Fashion designer, Fashion instructor, Fashion stylist, and fashion business consultant with a passion for creating unique fashion pieces and inspiring a new generation of fashion designers.
Born and raised in a home with her mother who was a fashion designer and seamstress. As legacy would have it, she quickly followed in her mother’s footsteps. Racheal started sewing from her mother’s tailoring shop at a very young age and as she grew up her creative expression turned to designing and retailing clothes by starting her own fashion business in 2010.
She has a BSC in Mathematics, an MSC in International Business Management and Certificate in Entrepreneur management (CEM) from the Enterprise Developmental Center of the Pan Atlantic University (PAU). To further pursue her passion for fashion design, she proceeded to London to study a number of fashion courses including Draping on the stand (often called modelling), a pattern cutting method used by many leading designers today.
In 2014, Racheal noticed a gap for globally relevant fashion design training in Nigeria and launched Abvee Fashion Academy.
Racheal’s goal in founding Abvee Fashion Academy was to create an environment in which students could learn about globally respected high fashion and master the skills necessary to succeed in fashion. Since its opening, Abvee’s mission has been to provide students with the technical foundation they need, preparing students with little or no experience to enter the fashion industry.
ABVee Fashion Academy’s curriculum brings real-world technical skills from the industry into the classroom allowing students to jumpstart their careers in fashion faster than ever by promoting creativity and imagination and teaching proven industry techniques.
As lead Instructor at Abvee Fashion Academy, she teaches Pattern drafting, fashion illustration, 3D draping on the stand, origami, sewing techniques etc. Racheal also enjoys sharing with her students the knowledge of business of fashion, marketing, and sales that she has gained through her own business experience.

OUR FACILITIES
Our sewing labs are equipped with industrial sewing machines, sergers, and pressing equipment. They provide students with hands-on experience in garment construction, enabling them to learn various sewing techniques and the use of different fabrics. Our advanced labs also include specialised machines for embroidery, quilting, and other decorative techniques.
ABVee’s pattern-making and draping studios provide the tools and space for students to develop patterns and construct garments from scratch. These studios often feature large drafting tables, pattern paper, and specialised tools such as French curves, rulers, and notches. Draping areas have dress forms in various sizes, allowing students to experiment with fabric directly in a three-dimensional form.
